A slight change to the schedule for this week. The intersection of West A Street and and West Avenue will be closed today.
We have been looking at the intersection and have decided that the best way to fix the intersection is to rebuild the intersection. We are going to excavate the area inside the crosswalks to a depth of 12” and bring it back up in layers. This is going to be inconvenient and somewhat time consuming, but I think it will be last longer and be a better finished product when we are complete.
The plan is to get the intersection to within about 2” of finished grade today, and then complete the paving either Friday or Monday. We will make the transition into the intersection as smooth as possible, but it will have a bump between the different elevations.
